Chauncey Smith | 15 Mar 2018

We're only a couple of weeks away from April, and that means one thing: baseball is right around the corner! Dozens of major leaguers have made their way to the big leagues after a stop in Myrtle Beach, and with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans' 2018 season kicking off on April 5, you're likely to see some future MLB stars take the field. Make sure you don't miss out on all the action during your vacation to Myrtle Beach!
Since 1999, the Pelicans have drawn thousands of fans to catch the game's biggest up-and-coming stars as they begin their journey to making a Major League Baseball team.
Until 2010 the Pelicans were the Class A Advanced team for the Atlanta Braves. The team switched to an affiliate of the Texas Rangers from 2011-2014 and from 2015 to the present the Pelicans have been within the Chicago Cubs organization.
Through the first 18 years of existence, the Pelicans have won nine division titles and consistently fielded future MLB players. Some of the most successful graduates of the Pelicans organization include Adam Wainwright, Brian McCann, Craig Kimbrel and Freddie Freeman.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans begin their 19th season on April 5th against the Frederick Keys, an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
In addition to the great action that will be happening on the field, the Pelicans' home stadium of TicketReturn.com Field is consistently ranked as one of the top minor league ballparks in the country. Head down toward the left field line area to check out the sandy shores of Pelicans Beach, complete with lounge chairs and available for rental for large groups. Whether you're sitting in box seats behind the dugout or out in the bleachers, there's not a bad seat in the house!
Furthermore, TicketReturn.com Field offers a huge selection of delicious ballgame snacks to enjoy, with signature selections including chicken and waffle bites, pulled pork BBQ sandwiches or fried chicken bog balls as well as traditional favorites like 1/2 pound hot dogs and nachos. A large domestic and craft beer selection is also available, with local brews from New South Brewery featured at several stands. And with a huge schedule of promotional giveaways, food and drink deals and fireworks after each Saturday home game, it's always a great time to take in a Pelicans game!
