Hot Fish Club

The Original "Hot and Hot Fish Club" was founded near the end of the 18th century and was probably the first dining establishment in Murrells Inlet. The first clubhouse was said to be on Drunken Jack Island, located just a few miles south of the present-day Hot Fish Club, near what is now Huntington Beach State Park. Members of the club described their time spent on the island as the happiest hours of their lives. The club was dismantled and finally laid to rest after the Civil War. An ever-shifting sand bar off the coast of Huntington Beach State Park is now all that remains of the original site of the Hot and Hot Fish Club.
